EARTHTONES
As the clay is worked, each roll and fold creates new tones and colours merge. Distinct lines overlap or get lost amongst the layers. Edges are cut off and scraps form new pieces, continually evolving towards unique designs and reducing waste. Decisions are made, cutting and editing, adjusting the colour pigment, but ultimately this level of precision is outweighed by the potential to experiment and play.

I produced a series of screenprints directly influenced by the design on a single clay tile, the colours and shapes reflecting on my interest in body and landscape .
